England / Hale Family - Berkshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire
« on: Wednesday 19 October 11 18:08 BST (UK)  »
I am tracing the Hale family of the counties. So far I have 4 brothers.

William Hale (eldest brother). Had a son, John, who lived in Naunton, Gloucestershire and was the heir to his father's younger brother Henry.
John Hale (my direct ancestor), husbandman married Joan Turner in 1592 in Kington, Worcestershire; at least several generations of his descendants lived there.
Henry Hale, yeoman. Married Edith (no issue). Owned property at Bangrove, Beckwick, Gloucestershire (it's from his will and the inquisition of it that I have the connection to the other brothers and their sons).
Thomas Hale. Had a son John. Both lived at Shellingford/Shillingford, Berkshire.

So far I have no idea where all these brothers were born. I would welcome any help or any information about other descendants of this family.

Worcestershire Lookup Requests / Williams Marriage 1760s Droitwich Area
« on: Monday 31 August 09 10:13 BST (UK)  »
Hello. :)

I was hoping that someone has access to the Worcestershire Marriage Index (or is going to the record office in the future) and can lookup the following marriage for me:

William Williams to Nancy in the 1760s (maybe 1750s). They baptised their first child in 1768 in Dodderhill. That child went on to marry to Doverdale (so I suppose they might have married there as well).

There's also another completely different couple with similar names (William Williams and his wife Ann) also baptising children in Dodderhill at around the same time (the first was baptised in 1760). I thought it was the same couple at first, but they baptised a few of their children in the same year as my ancestors. I can't find their marriage either.   ;D

Any help in finding the marriage (and Nancy's maiden name) would be appreciated. :)

Cheshire / Bebbington Family of Middlewich
« on: Tuesday 18 August 09 15:36 BST (UK)  »
I have recently discovered (through a settlement examination of his son) that my ancestor Daniel Bebbington, who was married in 1704 in Droitwich, Worcestershire and spent the rest of his life there, originated in the parish of Middlewich, Cheshire.

So, if anyone has a Daniel Bebbington in their family, born around 1684 (at a guess) in Middlewich or the Middlewich area who "disappears", I'd be very happy to hear from you. :)

Worcestershire / Allen Phillips Families of Droitwich
« on: Tuesday 28 July 09 12:42 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for information on, or descendants of, John Allen and his wife Mercy (nee Perks) of Droitwich, and their three children, John (baptised 1659), Elizabeth (born around 1660), and Mary (baptised 1662). Elizabeth married Thomas Phillips, whilst Mary married Job Bolton (or Boulton).

Worcestershire / Bolton/Boulton Family of Worcestershire
« on: Tuesday 14 July 09 14:39 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for information on, or descendants of, the Bolton/Boulton family of Worcestershire.

Job Bolton/Boulton was married to Mary Allen in 1688 in Worcester and baptised their children in St Andrew, Droitwich. A few of their children, in turn, baptised their children in that parish. Any information, especially on Job's origins, would be welcomed.

Worcestershire Lookup Requests / BROOKE family of Worcestershire
« on: Friday 26 June 09 12:48 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for any information or descendants of the Brooke family of Droitwich, Worcestershire. The earliest ancestor I've come across is Robert Brooke, a weaver, who was baptising children there from 1650 onwards. Occupations for his descendants included clothier and wheelwright and there are other Brookes in the Worcestershire area that also pursued careers involving fabric and clothes. I suspect those are also relatives, though I've yet to link them up to my main branch.
