Unwanted Birth Certificate

Mary Anne Sedgwick
Born 21 Mar 1846,
Haywood, Parish of Colwich

Mother: Ann Sedgwick, Haywood
Registered 18 Apr 1846

Is anyone planning to go into the Staffordshire Record Office who could look for some baptisms in the following Parish Records?

Wall, St John the Baptist (Formed 1843 from pt. of Lichfield St Michael EP)
Baptisms - 1843-1920
Marriages - 1846-2003
Burials - 1844-1933

I'm hoping to find the baptisms of children born to William and Martha Sedgwick from 1843 to 1850.  I have the birth of one child (Emily - 26 Oct 1845 from page 3 of the Baptism Record). I don't know if they had other children but considering they married in 1839, I wondered if there were more born and baptised in Wall before Martha remarries in 1850.

Hi All  :)

I've been going over my Grandfather's WWI records and need some help in a couple of spots.

On the top line where he has been granted leave what is the word between Leave ? (via Calais)

And on the second line where he has Died from wounds at a casualty clearing station what does it say in brackets below OC. 64 CCS

Can anyone read what has been written between Mary Ann and McConnell in this burial entry?

It looks clear enough but I can't make any sense of it  :)

Technical Help / Excel Spreadsheet - help with Autofill
« on: Sunday 11 January 15 21:11 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Chatters:

I've been using Excel 2008 (v12.3.6) for Mac to do some transcribing.

I can't seem to figure out how to get the autofill to display all entries from each column.

For example - if I start typing the surname HUNTER the only H surnames that come up are the last few H surnames that have been typed. If HUNTER was the surname for record #1 it won't show if I start typing HUN.... for record 300.

Is there some way to adjust the autofill so that all entries under each letter will show up no matter how long the list is?

Thanking you in advance, sami

I have a list of ages and wonder if the number 2nd from the bottom is 36 or 86.

Your thoughts on this most appreciated.

Morning All  :)

Does anyone have any ideas on the Mother's name in this burial record?

I've seen it transcribed as Jonney and I've been wondering about Fanny.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Sheila and Mary in 1917
« on: Thursday 20 November 14 01:53 GMT (UK)  »
This torn and badly faded photo is of my Mum and Aunt in 1917 when they were are 3 and 2 years old. I don't know if it can be improved at all but wondered if some kind soul is willing to give it a try.

Its been scanned at as high a resolution as I could and then cropped to get it under the 500 kb.

Photo of my Grandfather (third from the right) with a group of soldiers. Its a nice clear photo but I'm hoping someone can remove the ink marks on either side of his head. The photo has also been folded so there is a crease line down his left side. Hoping that can also be repaired.
