I'm still pursuing the possible Blower/Sedgwick connection but have also started working on the people listed with Mary A Blower in the 1861 derbyshire census:
possibly her

Charles Neville was born in Derbysh. but his family were landowners in Shenstone Staffs. and thats where Charles was living in 1841 and 1851.
There is a Nixon family in Shenstone on the 1851 census - H.O. 107/2014
Benjamin Nixon - Head - Widower - 70 - Ag. Labourer - born Shenstone, Staffs.
Ann Nixon - Daughter - Unm. - 26 - Servant - born Walsall, Staffs.
Mary Ann Nixon - Granddaughter - 4 - born Shenstone, Staffs.
An entry found on familysearch.org shows a Marianne Nickson christened 19 May 1847 in Shenstone with only the mother Ann Nickson shown as parent.
The birth certificate for Mary Ann Nixon shows her born on May 9, 1847 in Shenstone - Ann Nixon is the mother with no father listed.
I have a handwritten list done by one of my great aunts in the 1930's/40's which shows the birth and death dates for most of her family including parents and siblings. For her mother - Mary Ann - there is no year but the birthday is May 9.
So I think there is a good chance that this Mary Ann Nixon is my ggm whom I've always known as Mary Ann Blower/Stone/Archer. The trouble now is that I can't make a connection between Nixon and Blower. I've tried searches using various spellings of Blower/Bloor/Blore/Bloore and Nixon/Nixson/Nickson and have found no matches.
