Hi all,
i am trying to find information on John Thomas, he was the mayor of Kendal from 1916-1919 and his lady mayoress was his niece Grace Williams,

When John Thomas died he left all his wealth to Kendal to buy cottages/ Alms housing, and money to Kendal hospital to buy beds

I cant find anything through Google, any Help or Information would be useful!!

Hi all, does anybody know how we go about finding records relating to the Eisteddfod festival

Owen John Williams (born 1868 in Holyhead) was known as Owen Cybi for his poetry, and was recognised at one of these festivals and made a bard- but we dont know when!

Any information relating to the above would be a great help

i am looking for information on Goronwy wyn Williams

he ran the Glasyn iron foundry at Porthmadog, and when i am searching hin it is coming up is Poet- Has anybody heard of him or any of his work?

anything would be good as all i have are the year of birth an death and his parents were Charles Henry Williams and Annie

Hi all
i am looking for information on The Glaslyn iron foundry that was in Porthmadog, it was one of three from abt 1848 onwards (i do think it is closed and not there now)

I am particularly interested in the Charles Williams, Charles Henry Williams and Goronwy Wyn Williams that ran/ owned the foundry.


Any information would be good as trying to compile a personnal family journal on the family history for my mother in law!

I am looking for information on William Houston (1870-1951) who was listed on census's as a musician he was married to Isabella Carney,
i think they had 4 children, Jemima (1905) Margaret Ann (1889) Thomas (1895) and Jane (1898)

I think his father was Arthur Houston(1841) who was born in co. down Ireland  who on the 1871 census was in Whitehaven and his occupation was a "served muslin designer" , does anybody know what this would involve??

any help or pointers would be very helpful

I have tracked my McWhinnie family too Hugh McWhinnie born 1801 who i think was married to Janet McFarlen, my family goes down through his son Andrew McWhinnie born 1837

is anybody else searching this family??

waht i know of Andrew is he was married 3 times, and his second wife was called Martha Rogers?
i think his father was called andrew McWhinnie also

Francis born 1826
Catherine born 1838
we believe they came to carlisle, cumberland some time during the potatoe famine, as their first son James McManus was born in carlisle in 1850
any help would be good
