Hi Mel,
I understand you just want a picture of your relative, but I'm wondering if the other people's clothing in the photo might help us with the date. What does everyone think?
Paulene :)

Hi Paulene,

If you think it might help, however we don't know who the other person is and there is only that little bit in the corner on the original picture. I do know that Sarah died in 1928 aged 78 so i think the picture may have been taken in the later years of her life.

Hi

Can anyone work their magic on this little gem that has been sent to me today by my mum's cousin. It is a picture of my great great grandmother Sarah.

If anyone has an idea on a rough date as well that would be useful.

Thanks

Mel

Hi Claire & Simon

Thanks for that, I've not seen that before, I think I might have got her surname from someone on Genes.
Looks like a visit to Derby records office: I think that's a trip to Matlock!

Hi Judi,

Thanks for that, that tree is actually mine! but I'm not sure whether her name was Taylor or not as I can't recall where my original info came from and I am currently trying to tie up the loose ends in my research on this part of my tree.

Thanks for your help

Hi,

I have reached a real 'brick wall' with this one and wondered if anyone else can spot what i've been looking for.

I am looking for a marriage record for:
Edward Ames(born1816 Rugeley)  and  Elizabeth (born 1811 Hixon)

Their first child Elizabeth (my great great Grandmother) was born in 1838 in Burton on Trent, so i am assuming that they married before or around this time. I have got their dates of birth from the census.

Can anyone help me on this one, its driving me mad!!

Mel
