Yes, Lizzie, that is the same shorthand that I learned in 1959 and other than for exams (at which I was rubbish) we all developed our own little foibles over the years.

Whilst I can't see a baptism for Samuel Trippett there is a marriage in 1802 at St Peter, Woolley:

7 June 1802 by Banns
Samuel Trippett of the Chapelry of Barnsley (Bachelor) and Martha Hinchliffe (x) of this Chapelry (Spinster).  Witnesses:  Thomas Birkenshaw and George Field.

There are two baptisms as St Mary, Barnsley for children of Samuel and Martha:
Joseph - 28 November 1802 and Ann - 24 November 1805.

No indication of occupation in any entry.

F C H Birthday 24 July 1885 as far as I know in Liverpool (ask Mary) her father was a master builder and when I was a little girl he was working on a church in St Helens.  He mother's name was Mary I think her unmarried name was Davies.  She had a sister called Sarah this is all I know about her of Welsh forbears.

Family Search give details for the following children, but I cannot find any entries in the parish registers for St Peter, Birstall.

Rachel Broscom, baptised 14 May 1780
Patience Broscom, baptised 30 September 1787

By entering the "forename" of the child, father's name of Jeremiah (no surname), plus the years quoted by you, and the parish records for Birstall, St Peter, I can confirm:

James Broscom son of Jeremiah Broscom of Gomersall - 8 September 1782
Jerry Broscome son of Jeremiah of Great Gomersall - 18 January 1784
John Broscome son of Jeremiah of Gomersall - 23 March 1791
Joseph Broscomb son of Jeremiah Broscomb of Gomersall - 4 May 1794
Sammy Broscomb son of Jeremiah Broscomb and Mary of Gomersall - 18 March 1798
John Broscomb son of Jeremiah Broscomb and Elizabeth of Cleckheaton - 25 December 1807

I wonder if Minnie is not the name she was registered under  :-\  I know that it is used as a "proper" name, but it is also a "pet" name.  The burial entry in Walton Cemetery doesn't give any clues, but perhaps the death certificate might as she was a child  :-\

I wonder whether Minnie is actually Agnes' daughter.  :-\  On the 1911 census return Rosetta says that she has had two children, both of them living = Agnes and Solomon.

A possibility for Francis' death although the age is wrong - but the information on a death certificate is only as good as the information supplied.

Francis Jenkins - March q 1901 - W Derby 8b page 338 - aged 56.

When Solomon marries in 1904 he does say that his father, Francis, is deceased.
