The mention of Mrs Beves has no connection with James William Hopkins.  James was jailed for 28 days for refusing to become a trainee to the Horden Colliery in Durham. FindMyPast has the image of the article.

Thank you LM - actually it takes about 5 minutes.  Many years ago, whilst in Belgium around Easter, I noticed that gardens and even motorhomes were decorated - SO!  I sent OH to the nearest supermarket and he came back with 3 packs of these plastic Easter eggs.  I've used them ever since to add a bit of colour for a few days, and I also decorate my porch with ideas for each of the seasons - Christmas (obvious), spring = the eggs, summer = mermaids on their deckchairs on the beach, and autumn = fungi and gnomes.  :-\
