Where I used to live, in Cheshire, we had two 'big' houses. I was told that it was usual for these houses to recruit their staff from outside the local area - so that they would not be inclined to run off home. Looking at the census entries for these properties, that theory was borne out.

Knottingley is part of the parish of Pontefract, therefore I would suggest that the two entries refer to the same baptism. I may be wrong

During research for someone else I found a baptism, in South Africa in 1852, for a lady who married in London in 1849. Birth year given as 1829 in London.
