Just a thought - was the "in attendance" attributed to a medical person?

The Common Room / Re: 1939 register telling porkys!

My apologies for this, in advance  :)

From the subject of this thread - 1939 register telling porkys - it is ALL the fault of the people who entered the information supplied to them by individuals.

A census, register, marriage entry, baptism entry, death entry is ONLY as good as the information supplied by INDIVIDUALS- if those individuals supply erroneous information, then how or why is it the fault of the clerk, who is merely writing down the information supplied to them.

Transcription errors from previously submitted information is a different thin altogether.

Sorry  :-[ :-X

That looks like the one, BUT it is the only entry for Fitchett at Kinver in baptisms, marriages and burials.

Kinver, St Peter registers are available on FindMyPast.  Perhaps your library, assuming you live in England, has access.

Saying that there is only one instance of Fitchett - a baptism in 1889.

Second addition - I believe that there is an offer currently for FindMyPast for £1 - see "The Common Room" thread.

Also as you live in Yorkshire - see if your library has access to the 19th Century newspapers - Gale - accessible via your library card.  I know that some libraries in Yorkshire do have this access.

Abraham who died 1870 - occupation and age?  That may help to pin down the correct marriage.  Is he the death registered in Keighley aged 78 and buried at Haworth?  If so then he is too young to be the Abraham who married in either 1805 or 1808.

Hi Kathy:  sorry, I was obviously confused when I named Herbert as Frederick  :-[  I can't figure out now how to put it right.   :o

To exchange e-mail addresses, you will need to make one more reply to this message, and then we can use the PM system.  Under my username you will see an image resembling a page (as I'm on line then it should be green).  If you click on that then you can send me your e-mail address.  I can then, possibly, put you in contact with the person I am trying to help, who lives at Madrid.  I have e-mailed her to tell her of your contact with me.  :)

Many thanks for that Kathy.  Very strange though, as someone must have made an error somewhere - this headstone says that Frederick was born 3 July 1858 BUT his brother Edwin, in the baptism record, was supposedly born 9 September 1858 and baptised in King William's Town on 17 July 1859.

We still haven't found the death of Robert, although it must have occurred prior to 1860, when Eliza married George Bennett Mousley.

I'd also be interested to learn of your connection with the Reade family.  I have no personal connection at all, I am just trying to assist the Mousley family.

Betty - I'm assuming that she married at some point - what does it say on her marriage entry, relating to her father?  And when was that marriage?
