Devon Lookup Requests / Re: 1841-1861 Devon census look-up please for Margaret Pascoe
« on: Friday 04 February 05 09:51 GMT (UK)  »
Thanks Jaki, but I'm afraid it's not my Thomas.  I should have made it clearer that Thomas and Margaret were in the same household.  In fact they married in 1867 in Plymouth.

Many thanks for taking all the trouble looking him up.

Kind regards

Patricia

Not much to go on I'm afraid:

Margaret Pascoe, born Plymouth (perhaps St Andrews) c1833
Thomas Rowe, lodger, born Cornwall (Newquay/Kenwyn) c1830

Many thanks.

Adophus Date was married to Ann Moore who is a sister to my great grandfather Thomas Moore born in 1835. If you would like any further information on Ann's family please email me on

Very many thanks for that Geoff.  I'm just wondering how Thomas came to be a sailor - in the 1861 census he was married to a widow and living in Penryn, Cornwall and gave his occupation as a seaman. He also had a son called Thomas, my grandfather, who also went to sea.

Please would someone look up Philip (or Phillip) Moore who had a son called Thomas born 1837.  Sorry I have no further information except that Thomas father was called Philip and he may have been living in Porlock, Somerset.

Many thanks.

The Lighter Side / Re: Who Do You Think You Are? #2

I was fascinated by the second DYKWYA? programme because some of it took place in Falmouth which is only 2 miles from Penryn, my home town, so I actually knew some of the people.  The lady, Mrs Dalton, who Cyril had an affair with, well her daughter Diane who was with her is well known in Falmouth.  And I also recognised Derek, the illigitimate child of Cyril's. So for local people, even those not into genealogy, it was fascinating to see.
