Completed Census Requests / Shropshire Census 1861
« on: Monday 08 November 04 12:25 GMT (UK)  »
Please can some kind person have a look on the Shropshire census for 1861 in Cound and see if you can find any Millichips.

Im keen to find out more about Matthew Millichip and Sarah his wife.  Also Matthew Snr and his wife Mary.   Plus any others that were in Cound at this time as well.

Its possible they were listed as Millichap/Millichop

Any help gratefully recieved.

Best wishes
Helen

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / 1891 Census Lookup Please
« on: Friday 05 November 04 19:29 GMT (UK)  »
Id be grateful if some kind person would help me - one of my ancestors is being pesky and not being easy to find.  His name is Alfred Deag and Ive not been able to find him in 1891 so far.

Details are:

Alfred George Deag (could be down as George Alfred Deag) born 1852.  He was married at 1891 but his wife and family are listed separately so he was obviously away from home on that night.  I know he was alive in 1901 though so he wasnt dead.  He was a Jeweller by trade.

In 1889 he was listed as his daughters dad at this address: 11 Sebbon Street, Islington, London, but as I say only his wife and family are here in 1891.

Hope someone can help - would be most grateful

Best wishes

Helen

I love the fact that I can scroll down the threads without seeing requests for lookups but if I want to see whos requesting what I can go to the other board.

Why arent lookup threads moved on London like they are on other boards?

Staffordshire / Staffs GRO alternatives
« on: Monday 01 November 04 13:35 GMT (UK)  »
Please can someone give me some pointers:
My great grandmother was listed in the 1891 and 1901 Census, each time living with her father and mother, making her born in 1882 in Hanley named Mary Ann Brook - the dates also match her age at date of death so there doesnt seem to be any error there.

However, Ive scanned 1837online till my eyes have gone funny and cannot find any Mary Ann Brook born in 1882 in Hanley or even Staffs. Ive got them to do me a search cover 1881 and 1883 as well to no avail.

Can anyone recommend somewhere else in Staffs that would list births for 1882?  All help gratefully received.

Many thanks

I would be very grateful if some kind person would assist me by looking up the following on the 1861 Census for Staffs:

William Brook - living in Shelton/Hanley/Stoke on Trent - 24yrs
wedding cert of March 1861 states Gill Street, Shelton - father Joseph - Rate Collector although he was supposedly an engraver in 1851

Selina Emery - living in Shelton/Hanley/Stoke on Trent - 21yrs
wedding cert of March 1861 states Bedford Place, Shelton - father William - Grocer

Would also love to find Joseph Brook 53yrs and his wife - Mary 51yrs and family and William Emery 61yrs and his wife - Ann 61yrs and family - if they arent at these addresses already - they should be living in Shelton/Hanley area.

Any help very gratefully received

Many thanks
