Suffolk Lookup Requests / Baptism - Sophia MARJORAM
« on: Sunday 30 November 08 18:06 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, I am still seeking info on Sophia Marjoram, 1804 - 1881. She is now thought to
have been born at Fritton, wed Thomas Muddock at Redingfield 1825 and died at
Stowmarket in 1881.
All that might seem very simple, despite the fact that they cannot decide how to
spell her surname, Marjoram, Majoram, Marjerum, Margeram, Margerum, to list
but a few variations.
However, I still cannot find out who were her parents.
I did try to contact the Suffolk lookup volunteers over a week ago, but nobody
seems to have had the time or inclination to reply.

I would be glad of any help offered.

Suffolk Lookup Requests / Cransford PRs - MAJORAM
« on: Sunday 23 November 08 23:25 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, If anyone has the Cransford Parish Registers to hand, could they please take a
look for me. I am interested in Amy Majoram, 1814 - 1874, and Martha Majoram,
1807 - 1852.
I would be grateful of all and anything you can tell me of this family.
Many thanks,
Chainsaw.

Limerick / Perry and Casey families
« on: Wednesday 29 October 08 16:43 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, my ancestors came from Ireland, although I don't know exactly where.

Are there a good number of BMD records for these surnames in Limerick, if so

I'm hoping there is a good chance that I have struck lucky.

Please help if you can.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Casey in Manchester
« on: Friday 24 October 08 14:31 BST (UK)  »
Hello, I'm trying to find all and anything about the Casey Family in Manchester.

Here is what I have so far ;-

John Casey, born 1796 Ireland, he is shown on the 1861 census as being a widower.

He has a daughter, Ann, born 1848 Manchester.

He also had a son, Thomas, born 1843 Manchester. Not shown on the same page - thought to

be in the army.

I think John's wife was Ann, born 1816 in Ireland.

On Free BMD I found 2 possible burials for Ann Casey, Manchester, one in 1855 ref 8d 12[8]

and also 1856 ref 8d 170, but could find nothing to indicate her age at death, nor her husbands name.

And that's about it - any gaps you can fill in would be most appreciated.

I have one Susannah Pauncefort, born 1749 at Middlezoy, Somerset, and William, possibly her father, but would

like all and any earlier history if possible. Can you help ??

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Casey in Manchester
« on: Thursday 16 October 08 22:19 BST (UK)  »

I know it's going to be tricky, the surname is hardly unusual,

and I have very little information to go on, but please can I

ask for a look-up for any possible candidates for the following;-

Thomas Casey, born/bapt circa 1842 Manchester.

His father is thought to be John Casey.

I got Thomas's name from his daughter's marriage cert,

She was born 23 Dec 1877 at Hampstead, Middlesex,

Her name was Dora Teresa Casey.

I would like all and any info on Thomas and his parents.

Hampshire & IOW Lookup Requests / Seeking David Ayling
« on: Sunday 12 October 08 20:48 BST (UK)  »

I am trying to find the bapt., and thereby the parents of David Ayling, born circa 1750. He was wed and died at Alton,

This info from photofiche of the parish registers, but I have not found his bapt. I have found a note that says he MAY

have been born/bapt in the Petersfield area, but I have no real proof.

As he died in 1828 the census is not much use in this instance. I do know there were Aylings at Greatham, and that's

quite close to Petersfield, but it is still rather like fishing in a muddy puddle.

If anyone has the parish registers to hand I would be most grateful if they could look him up for me.

I know this is likely to prove a slow process of eliminating each parish in turn, but I have little alternative.

If he is there, the next question is who were his parents, and did they bapt. any of his siblings there.

Sussex Lookup Requests / William Ayling, Greatham
« on: Sunday 12 October 08 20:17 BST (UK)  »

Please can I request a look-up in the Parish Registers for the bapt. of one William Ayling, born circa 1767.

I would like to know the parents names, and would also be interested in any siblings bapt by the same parents.

I am aware that there is also a Greatham in Hampshire, so if I get no luck here I will try there.  However, the 1851

census does show him as having been born in Sussex.

Hampshire & IOW Completed Lookup Requests / Alton, Hampshire.
« on: Friday 10 October 08 17:38 BST (UK)  »

I have DAVID AYLING, born 1750 at Alton, died 1828 at Alton, wed ELIZABETH WINKWORTH, 1746 - 1828, at

Alton in 1770.

BUT, I have nothing on David's parents. As I have Aylings in both my paternal and maternal lines, I am quite keen

to find out if they have common ancestors.

So, if I could ask someone to please do a look-up for me, they could help resolve this question.

I think this is the point at which my Aunt abandoned the project because she feared she might have uncovered a

skeleton or two. However, I would like to know the truth.
