Yes the Maguires are hard to follow because there seems to be a lot of different families, but I have baptisms for Thomas, Catherine and Margaret their children and they are all down as Rafhrty I think they had trouble
 writing their names down properly as a lot of people those days were considered illiterate, I'm looking for Jane the other sister don't seem to be able to find her birth or baptism the other brother john served in the Army

I have a certificate of the marriage
the father of Thomas Maguire is William
Father of Catherine is Patrick Raftree seems to be the name they kept using along with Rafferty I think they had trouble with there spelling cos I have baptisms for the other children and Rafferty/Raftree keeps appearing, they married in St Peters Roman Catholic church in Scarborough.

Are you also researching this family?

Thanks for the info I do have Thomas and Catherines marriage certificate, It looks like shes down as Raftree marriage was 1864 Scarborough.

 thanks for your reply I have looked everywhere, ordered certificates from different areas and none have them have been the one needed.
I will have to keep looking I tried Middlesex as the parents were there when he was born.

Thank you all as far as I'm aware the father wasnt in the military, I have also checked with Cornwall parish registers and nothing. So looks like I'm stuck for the moment
