Thanks mckha489

So that's the answer - Brookside NZ is right next to Ellesmere.

But in answer to the original question ----  :D

Can anyone confirm the birth
1895/17698   Hall    Florence May    Bella   William
was registered in Christchurch which would be close to Brookside -
and location of the wedding ?

Presumably the marriage cert shows her age so it should be easy to look for her birth in either NZ or UK ??

For comparison, WW1 Petty Officer Mechanic RNAS Royal Naval Air Service:

Thanks Tony, yes I agree with shanreagh, it looks very similar!
So now all I have to do is find out who he was  ???

Thanks to CraigM63, too. A very helpful and interesting thread. So if the uniform is RNAS then it's almost certainly taken in the period from 1 July 1914 to 1 April 1918.

and thanks also to mmm45 for that suggestion.

Thanks crisane,

Yes, I'm sure that's the same badge as I found and showed in my second photo -

but I cannot be sure it's the same one on my man's cap  ::)

Can anyone help with recognition of this uniform, probably WW1?

It's a rather blurry photo of a photo which had nothing on back, believed to be a family member but no idea which one!

The closest cap badge I've found is shown in second photo - Fleet Air Arm Petty Officer.
The badge on his right sleeve might help - wings?

I'll add link to the Armed Forces Board.

Thanks for any help.
