I am connected via landline with a modem in the study which is at the front of the house.  If I have the study window open and put my laptop nearby it does speed things up but I prefer to sit in the rear garden.

We do have outside electricity so I will investigate an extender.

Thank you both for your help.

Technical Help / Using Laptop Outdoors
« on: Monday 15 July 13 12:54 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone,

In this nice weather I have been inclined to use my laptop in my garden however it is so very slow (I can make a cuppa in the time it takes to send an email)  does anyone have any ideas on how I can strengthen my wifi signal to speed things up.

The Common Room / Death of Neville Jessup
« on: Wednesday 10 April 13 00:16 BST (UK)  »
The Wiltshire Coroner is looking for any known relatives of Neville Jessup, aged 78 who died last week in Swindon.  I believe you talented people would be able to do a family tree and therefore locate and inform the coroner directly of any relatives (as obviously we cannot put the details of any living person on this site).  Coroner phone number 01793 507841.

This is the link to newspaper article for more info.

Frangie, I am sure Schoch will be very pleased that you have posted this information and that you may be able to help with further research.

If you are researching your own family tree we will be more than happy to help but best to start a new post/thread.
