Hi could anyone help? I am trying to get some information about my late fathers family his name was Thomas Scott born Thorn-liebank Eastwood Renfrewshire he had 3 brothers that I know of William dob 1896, George dob 1902 and John dob? death 1985 he was a bachelor and lived with his sister Crissie in Renfrew her married name was Faulds. I live in England and am with Ancestry been trying for two weeks but getting nowhere

Hi Farrochie sorry delay in answering your E-Mail. My great great grandparents were George Cathcart and Elizabeth Burns,
they had 4sons and a daughter Alexander, William (my Great Grandfather) then George Johnston, Robert and Agnes Anne.
Robert and George Johnston look to have been twins going by their date of birth.
I notice you have Eliza Julia married to a William but my record and any I have found she married George my great great Grandfather in 1877 a year afterElizabeth Burns died.
I was born in Scotland but now live in England if I can be of any help to you please let me know Weed

Hi James thanks for your information. He was living in Main Street Eastwood Renfrewshire I understand there was a printwork in that area,
while updating my tree I found quite a few of my ancestors came over from Ireland to work in the Printworks and all seem to be living in the Eastwood area. Yours truely Edna

I am trying to get some more information on my Great Great Grandfather
George Cathcart born 1814 in Antrim he married Elizabeth Burns DOB 1816 Antrim.
They married in 1838. I think he married Eliza JUlia? 1877 in Ballymenna if so
what happened to Elizabeth Burns and did he have any children to Eliza Julia,
my Great parents were married in Ballemenna first church Kirkinola so its possible
my great great grandpaents married there to thanking you Weed

Can someone please help me I am trying to find the correct date when my grandmother died I thought it was 1945 but my older brother thought it was later I cant remember her, I have discovered she was born in Antrim Ireland
July 1875 her name was Jane or on some things Jenny Cathcart she married Thomas Scott1894 Eastwood area of Pollockshaws they were living there on on the 1901 Census but moved to Paisley I have tried Ancestry and Scotlands people without success
