Hi Geoff...
Thanks again...just great information and being candid is perfect, after all we're not all perfect.  I hadn't realized that base child meant illegitimate but that explains some thing.....I have just found a Samuel Dyke b:1747 January 16 and he would be the oldest and married to Elizabeth Roberts....hmmmm...interesting.
Any way of finding what cemetery they would buried at.?   probably Ludlow would have only one in those days...
And once again I thank you for all the information...very much appreciated.
Cheers
Dave

Hi Geoff..
Thanks again for all your work doing the lookups...very much appreciated
I did know that James Harris Dyke died and they had another son and named him James Harris...I believe I found that Ann's maiden name was Harris...hence the middle name.
Could you please tell me about Richard, s of Samuel, base child of Elizabeth Roberts?....I don't know what you mean by base child? because there was another child named Richard b: 1865 just 3 years prior to this other Richard..??
Thanks again for all your work.
Cheers
Dave

As a Mariner who has sailed those waters, 31N and 40W is approximately 1000 miles south west of the Azores and directly east of Savannah Georgia.  Pretty much in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
Hope that helps

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Samuell DIKES..
« on: Monday 25 October 10 01:30 BST (UK)  »
Hi.
I need some advice...I'm trying to trace my DYKE tree and I've found a Samuel  Dykein Ludlow Shropshire in 1747 who had 8 children with his wife Ann.  I found a Samuell DIKE in Helpingham Lincolnshire who had 6 children, one of whom was named Samuel DIKES C: 1726 ...How can I find out if SAMUELL DIKE C; 1726 is the same man as SAMUEL DYKE in Ludlow Shrop. in 1747 married to Ann??
Also the surnames of his children seem to have changed...from his of DIKE to DIKES, DYKES
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated
Many Thanks

Kildare / Stratford, 20th Hussars 1911 Census... -COMPLETED
« on: Saturday 22 August 09 04:41 BST (UK)  »
Good Morning...
i'M searching for my wife's G Grandfather Thomas John Stratford who was posted to Co Kildare, Curragh in 1906, with the 20th Hussars and I'am especially looking for a daughter who his wife had (illegitimately) prior to their marriage, named Maysie Anna.
I have Thomas Stratford's Army records and the list of dependant does not show Maysie Anna.
Can any one tell me when County Kildare's 1911 census will be on line.

Would very much appreciate any help on this...
Thanks very much
Dave.....BC Canada
