Thanks for all your help Rosie,  I have sent away for a copy death certificate for William Henry, hopefully this will provide more details for his parents.

Kind regards
Lynne

It was the only one I could find and the details matched

it was a transcript - no details of father occupation or mothers maiden name

Thank you so much for your help Rosie, I really appreciate it

I have checked the copy of Williams marriage certificate - its shows that Thomas was deceased (by 1865) - Its very difficult to read the occupation of Thomas but looks like ?????? & road driver - the first word could be something like 'overarms' not sure if that makes a lot of sense.

I have sent off a message to the the person who I think has the original copy to see if she can decipher the occupation for Thomas.  I haven't had any previous contact with her so not sure if she will respond.

It doesn't show the fathers occupation on the christening details

both his marriage certificate and death certificate gave his occupation as a butcher.  There was a piece in the local paper when he died but that didn't give any indication how long he had been in the country - very frustrating :-(

Hi,

The only information I have for William is his marriage certificate.  Details on mc show his age where he was born "England" and his parents names.  Using that information I found details of his christening in Holy Trinity Hull.  I haven't been able to find any other information.  I don't know when he came to Australia.  I have searched immigration records as well as convict musters etc but haven't been able to find anything before his marriage

regards
Lynne

Does anyone have access or could help me with a look up for my 3 x great grandparents Thomas Williams and Mary Russell.  I have my 2nd great grandfathers marriage certificate.  He was married in Australia in 1865 and details show his age as 24, he was born in England and his parent were Thomas Williams and Mary Russell.  As I am in Australia I have been researching online but haven't been able to find any details other than my 2 x ggfather, William Henry Williams was christened on 27 Aug 1840 at Holy Trinity Hull. I would be most appreciative if anyone is able to help with possibly marriage details. I have also checked 1841 & 1851 census with no luck

Kind Regards
Lynne
