« on: Thursday 20 November 08 22:48 GMT (UK)  »
hi everyone,
i need help in finding information about my grandmother amy anderson. She was married to Richard Hodgson in south shields on jan 1st 1927 and died on the 29 th april 1930 during child birth . her father was walter anderson and he was a master mariner . I need help in finding any information about when she was born and who her mother was etc as i cant find anything about her other than what i have stated . Also i cannot find any information on walter anderson or whom he was married to. I,ve been told that Amy was not born in the north east and the only walter anderson that i can find who was a mariner was born in hadock in lancashire in 1859 but i have no idea if this is him or not . Could some one please help me as i,ve tried for several years to get past this sticking point but to no avail. I would love to find out more about them both .
Thanking you

« on: Sunday 16 November 08 18:13 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone .
I,m looking for any information on my grandfather Walter Lewis born in southshields. He was married to Jane Graveson Strasenburgh on January 14 th 1927 aged 25yrs so i take it that he was born about 1901 . I can,t seem to find any record of his birth  but i do know that his father was also called Water Lewis. If anyone could possibly offer some help in finding his parentage for me i would  greatly appreciate it.
Thanking you all

Hi ,
I,m looking for any information on my grt grt grt grandfather FREDERICK STRASENBURGH. He was born in north leith in scotland in 1824 and moved to south shield in the north east of england . He was a master mariner and was captain in 1850 of a Brig called " GEM " which sailed from south shields. The GEM was built in sunderland in 1837 by john h robson. I would love to know more about this ship , in particular what she looked like and also more information about Frederick and his career as a mariner. Any information would be appreciated.
