Jim, Thank you for that wonderful info. How on earth did you find the will? I have Jean and family at King St, Carlisle, but I don't think the "Ellener" aged 15 is his daughter, Eleanor who was born in 1814, and would be 27 in 1841. Also there is an "Ellen Boulen", born London aged 20 working as a female servant at St Ann's Hill, Stanwix, just north of Carlisle, who I think is my Eleanor Boullen. Also my Eleanor married George Anderson in Oct 1844 in Newcastle and his occupation is given as "Gentleman's servant" on the marriage certificate. She was already pregnant with their first daughter, Mary Jane, who was born the following 3 April 1845.I also think Thomas may have been her son. Eleaner Godfrey Anderson (nee Boullen) died in Ashton on Mersey, near Manchester in 1887. However, going back to "Ellener"; Jean's son James is married an Eleaner, born either in Carlisle or Scotland in 1827 in later censuses. She died in Salford in 1891 aged 64.
