Yes,have looked in census, but could not find them. Had not looked for emigration, but that is most certainly a possibility as William T Keith (son) was in Canada for a number of years. I'm sure in early part of 1850's, but possibility he was there earlier, possibly in early to mid 1840's.
Thanks, i'll try that out.
No, i'm not descendant from him but he would appear to be partners g/g/g/grandfather.

Yes, Aghadowey. The fact that for most, all i have is Culfeightrin for baptism or census extract. No other records found, so to llink someone with same name and pos year of birth to mine( if still living ) is very hard, especially when i find it hard to get around Ireland records at the best of times.

James Mcalister (1845) Culfeightrin. (1851 census extract)
Alex. Mcalister (1846) Culfeightrin. (1851 census extract)
Charles Mcalister (1851) Culfeightrin. (1851 census extract), Baptism record (IFHF) 03/03/1851.
Sponsers : Daniel McCormick & Mary McLean.
Catherine Mcalister (1851) Culfeightrin. (1851 census extract).
Margaret Mcalister (1853) Culfeightrin. Baptism record (IFHF) 22/05/1853.
Sponsers : Daniel McCormick & Margaret McCambridge.
John Mcalister (1855) Culfeightrin. Baptism record (IFHF) 13/05/1855.
Sponsors : James Mcalister & Sarah Stewart.
Jane Mcalister (1863) Culfeightrin. Baptism record (IFHF) 01/08/1863.
Sponsors : Daniel McKinley & Mary McAlister.
Jane Mcalister was a witness at her sister Mary Mcalister's wedding to Charles McKiernan on 24/11/1881. Address given was Ballypatrick.
Mary & Charles resided in Turnaroan, (The Fair Head) . Mary's mother MaryAnn (Stewart) Mcalister also resided there.living with them, aged 88yrs in 1901 census.
Brother Robert married Margaret McKiernan in 1879 in Ballyvoy. Emigrating to Lanarkshire, Scotland there after.
As previously said Glenmakeeran was place name in 1851 extract.
That is all the info i have been able to find.
Thanks.
That's all the info i have on the missing.

Thanks for the further info and confirmation on grandparents. The entry for the birth stated both parents unmarried. Was wondering why after going under Kelman name he suddenly decided to use Milne name. Was this because it was his birth name and as such when married, MC would list this as his name. No deed pole at time to change name.
Also entered on Parish record were the witnesses. Peter Milne ( Rora ) & John Kelman ( keyhead ). Also on this page of the Parish register was an entry for a William Henderson & his wife Christian Milne baptisim of daughter Christian Henderson. Witnesss were James Strachan (Rora) & Peter Milne also there. Could Peter Milne ( Rora) be the father of George Milne and as such Christian Milne his sister?
What relation James Strachan was i don't know but think it's time for myself to do some checking on SP for marriage and births. Thanks again for the info and assistance.

Hi Aghadowey,
Yes its the same family.
Have found births/marriages and deaths as said earlier. The problem arises as to where to locate remainder of family. Have tried IFHF for marriages to no avaiil. Know that 1 possibly 2 siblings were witnesses at marriages, with Ballyvoy & Ballypatrick mentioned, Glenmakeeran in extract. As far as i've been able to find out no one other than my g/grandfather left Ireland. Census records of 01 & 11 dont help either. My dillema seems to be where do i search now.
Thanks

Thanks all for the quick reply's. Had viewed BC on SP but could not find any MC pertaining to both parents, so thought child illigitimate. As for thinking that John was brought up by father, this conclusion(wrongly) because couldn't find him in census under Milne name. Also had came across Kelman/Brown marriage but because no link in census to John had disregarded this. Have only now found the link from John to Brown family. John had a son whom he named George Brown Milne born in Peterhead in 1873. But as you have mentioned it would appear John was being brought up by grandparents. Thanks again for the help, it's cleared a few loose ends up.

Have a marriage of William Keith to Mary Taylor on 1827 in Aberdeen. Mary's father was Robert Taylor, does anyone who is tracing these names know who the parents of William Keith are and also the mother of Mary Taylor. Thanks.

Have a marriage of John Alexander Kelman Milne to Margaret Hutchison in1870 in Crimmond ,Aberdeen. John was born 1846 in Fergus, Banff. Parents were George Milne & Isabella Kelman. Don't believe parents ever got married but was wondering if anyone studying Milne name could tell me if John A.K.Milne had any other siblings and if known ,how he ended up with father instead of mother.Thanks.
