Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Help reading this 1871 Census
« on: Monday 13 October 14 06:34 BST (UK)  »
Hi there,
I am trying to read the text pertaining to the LOVELL family on this census document from 1871 (household schedule 94). I would love to know the address in London and Henry's occupation!

Hello! Would anyone be able to decipher this letter from 1820 that's been in my family for generations?

Many thanks

Armed Forces / Royal Scots Fusiliers Postcard
« on: Wednesday 02 April 14 11:22 BST (UK)  »
Hello,
I have a postcard from Regimental Sergeant Major Ward (Great Grandfather) who served with the Royal Scots Fusiliers, with a return address of :-

RSM Ward
C.C.S. Dick Deuce, Edinburgh

I was wondering if anyone would know what C.C.S would mean? Perhaps Dick Deuce is the name of a camp? The postcard would have been sent between 1930 and 1950.
Thanks,
Neil

Dublin / Robert and Thomas Johnston of Skerries Ireland c1783
« on: Saturday 18 June 11 12:55 BST (UK)  »
I would be interested to hear from anyone with any relation or information regarding two brothers, Robert and Thomas Johnston, originally from Skerries, Dublin, Ireland who were alive in 1783. They were also at the time friends with a Francis Skelton who may also have been a doctor.
Any information gratefully received regarding either family: Johnston or Skelton.
