Her birth was registered in the St Luke district of Chelsea, sub district Chelsea North West in the county of Middlesex.
Thank you for looking

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Basebe marriage
« on: Saturday 17 January 09 11:38 GMT (UK)  »
For some time now I have been looking for the first marriage of my great x 2 grandfather Samuel Basébé to Jane Brown(e). I can't find them on FreeBMD or in any parish records that are on- line.

Samuel was baptised in St Leonards, Shoreditch in 1835, son of Thomas and Charlotte.

I have found him, imaginatively mistranscibed, in all censuses.
In 1851 he is single but by 1861 he is with Jane and their first child Rosina, aged 1, living in Chelsea. Jane's birthplace is given as Dublin. I don't think they married in Ireland as I think I have Jane on the 1851 living with an Aunt in Chelsea.

From Rosina's birth certificate she was born 25/9/1859

I have also found his subsequent 2 marriages to Alice Ayre and Hannah Symons.

Any help or ideas where to look next gratefully received.

Pam

The only information it gives is that Mary was living at 2 Devonshire Lane, St Helier and her date of birth was 22/5/1916.

These identity cards were issued by the German authorities during the Occupation. I haven't looked at any recently so I can't remember what information they contain - if you think it would be of help I can have a look next week when the Archive re-opens to see if there is any further information on the cards themselves.

The Jersey archive has a copy of his registration card giving his address as The Hollies, St Mary and date of birth as 30.06.03.
The registration cards usually give details of any children and often have a photo. Unfortunately those details are not on the website and the only other Whatley is a Mary née Winters at a different address with a child Patrick
