London and Middlesex / Earl of Lonsdale

I've just received a will for my Thomas Ridding. Some of it I can't decipher but the gist is he left everything to his wife. BUT he is referred to as servant (or steward) to the Earl of Lonsdale. There are two words before which may be Right Honourable.
It starts.....
In the name of God Amen, Thomas Ridding of Brown Street Grosvenor Square in the Parish of Saint George Hanover Square in the County of Middlesex servant(?) to the xxx xxx the Earl of Lonsdale being of sound mind memory and understanding etc etc
The will was proved at London on the 1st day of July 1819.
I'm surprised to find that only his wife, Sarah Ridding, is mentioned as in other wills I've seen the wife is provided for during her lifetime after which a will usually names another person, usually a child. Thomas Ridding's grandson Joseph Brown was christened on 20 June 1819 and although the child lived for less than 10 years, the parents (Thos Ridding's daughter and husband) lived until the 1850/60's.
Any thoughts?
