Pembrokeshire Lookup Requests / Re: Places of Wales

Thank you very much.   I will check these out.    I had not seen the Cambrian article before.  My John had two sisters Grace and Ann( doing this from memory) whose father George left them a ship called the Nancy in 1797.  Definately a seafaring family who farmed.   There is an uncle of theirs on the Welsh Mariner site.  I am descended from sister Martha who married Gilbert Howell.    LizR

Thank you for taking a look.  It is ST david and the farm is spelled many ways.  I found a John Perkins in Whitchurch  but no hits for George Perkins.  They were brothers.  Are you looking at other maps also?    Cant find their brother-in -law Gilbert Howell,  he was a slater living in Porthreiddy.  So nice to have these maps online,     LizR

Hello  I am looking for the Perkins of Porthlisky Farm on the tithe maps with no luck.  George is there in the 1841 census but doesn't show up in the index.  The farm doesnt seem to be in the index either.  I found it by browsing.  It is 2 bays to the west from the point of St Davids.  What am I doing wrong.?  Thanks for any help or suggestions.   William and Jane James had the lower farm around 1800.  LizR

Sussex Lookup Requests / Probate Weight family Rye.

Hello Rootschatters    I have a parish record listing Henry Weight's burial taking place 23 Nov 1760 and his wife Grace in 1780.   Cannot find a will for either of them.
The ESRO has a property history on Longer street.  Which
 makes a reference to the
Henry Weight estate in 1782 and then traces ownership or leases for quite a time period.  Mentions henry's grandson Henry Clark building warehouse.  Would love to find this probate file.  The Archdeanry of Lewes microfilm appears to have been withdrawn on Family Search hopefully to be replace with digital images.  thank you for any info, suggestions.  LizR

Thank you very much.  I will check the trees next time I am at the library.  I have found burial records for Henry in 1760 and Grace Waite in 1780 but nothing to get me further along on the Ashley's.  Also stuck on Henry Waite's probate.    Thank you again.   LizR

Thank you.  I sent you a pm with my email address.  John is listed on the 1841 census but Margaret is a widow in 1851.  I havent found Margaret in 1861 but she could have moved in with family.  Looking forward to seeing grave stone  LizR

Sussex Lookup Requests / Grace Ashley married Henery Wait 1728 Rye.

Hello Rootschatters,  I took advantage of FindMyPast free access to work  an unexplored line and hit a brick wall.   I am looking for Grace Ashley's baptism and only had 16 hits in parish records for Rye. Broadened out to Sussex and only got 44.
The Waits were Non-conformist and received an exemption from baptism to attend Saunders School in Rye.    Can anyone help me learn anything about the Ashley family?
Henry Wait and Grace had Mercy(Married Philip Clark),  Mary(married Abraham Staffell) and Margaret.  All buried Rye Church yard.  I have no death dates for Henry and Grace and only references to his estate in the Rye Corporation Records.
Thank you very much for reading and any help or suggestions      LizR
