Hello Maggieblue,

I need your help.  I just registered with RootsChat just to reach you.  I see from your previous posts that you have photos of all the headstones in Ahoghill Old Graveyard.  I have located my wife's great grandparents there and was hoping you could forward the photos to me.

The names are:

William Hamilton - Died June 28, 1886
Martha hamilton -  Died May 30, 1923

Thank You,
Joe

Hi Joe

Sure no problem.  As a newbie you need to post a couple more posts, just to this one even just with a smiley face.  Then you can send a PM (private message).  Send me your email address by PM and I will forward the pics to you.

Hi again

Sorry forgot to mention that there was Ralph Briggs who owned land in the Aghnahough area of Derriaghy, Lisburn in 1845.

Hi Imel  :)

There are Briggs recorded in Magheragall C of I, Lisburn registers and several graves containing Briggs in the graveyard.  I cannot find a Ralph though around the time period you have given.

There was a Ralph Briggs who lived in the Knockmore area of Lisburn who died aged 62 on the 26 September 1877.  He is interred in the Cathedral Churchyard, Lisburn.

Hi Annie

The grave is in Cullybackey Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery and reads

Erected in loving memory of Hugh Gray, Moyasset, who died 21st March 1924, aged 59 years. Also his daughter, Agnes A. Gray, who died 5th October 1893, aged 4 1/2 years Also his son Robert S. Gray, who died 7th January 1894, aged 2 1/2 years. Also his wife Jane Linton Stevenson, who died 4th August 1940 in her 78th year. And their daughter Mary who died 15th January 1961, aged 73 years. And their son Robert S. who died 28th August 1977, aged 77 years Also their daughter Agnes who died 21st April 1983 aged 85 years.

NOTE: Jane Linton Stevenson, Linton could have been her maiden name or her mothers, or indeed before I am corrected anyone for that matter.  In general I have found that the middle name is usually the mothers maiden name.  I just thought you would like to know if you have not already got this information.  As already mentioned I will take a photograph for you, will be there tomorrow.

Hi

There are McGee's connected to Derriaghy Parish as far back as follows

Margaret born 2/2/1699 to James McGee
James born 3/4/1709 to John McGee

Edward 7/2/1878 to Patrick & Eliza McGhee

and the following were sponsors at other baptisms

Eliza & Margaret McGee  to Susannah Long 1860
Eliza McGee to Joseph Matthews 1863
Sarah Jane McGhee to Margaret McCombs 1864
Mary Ann & Eliza McGhee to Rebecca Maxwell 1871

Note the two different spellings of the surname.

Will keep an eye out for this surname in any further records I come across
