Thank you. I can see the F L now.

Would the F L be the owner's initials?
Under the lid, along with the silver marks, is a very small "A.W". Is this the manufacturer's name?
Under that is a much larger "233".
my guess is yes re owners initials - (at some stage anyhow.)

Are you able to show us a photo of the Interior Marks ?

'F L'  is my reading of them.

I am old enough to have learnt to write them that way at school!    ;D ;D

Agree with Shaun re Church.

After Grant     'with Church rites' maybe   - cannot actually see rites but it makes sense - goingback to look again.
Is there another word meaning rites?    office's maybe?    :-\ :-\

A slightly bigger snip would/might help to see how writer forms letters - for comparison.   ;)

Mckha489, my friend was so pleased to get such a very quick response to our post.  It isn't always like that.  Thank you very much.

Many thanks also Heywood and Maddy  (and Neale) for the extra information.   She has gone home and I will leave it to her to a) register and b) take it from here!

I told her RC was a great site!     ;)

Thanks so much Heywood.

One more question.     How does my friend find out the siblings of the  Zena's mother Florence Amy Pinder, who she knows was at the end of a long family -  whose parents died when she was very young, and she was brought up by her elder Siblings - Florence that is.   ;)
