Shropshire / Ada Boston
« on: Thursday 15 May 14 08:49 BST (UK)  »
I have finally found a baptism record for my grandmother, after more than 7 years of looking, after FindMyPast put the Shropshire records online. She was baptised in Rodington on 25 Aug 1878 her parents being Frederick Boston and Emma Pritchard and her birth is given as 30 Apr 1877. I have applied for her birth certificate but Gro cannot find it, anyone any suggestions where to go from here, I presume she cannot have been born in Shropshire?

Family History Programs, Tree Organisation, Presentation / FTM 2006 deletion
« on: Friday 31 January 14 21:47 GMT (UK)  »
I used FTM 2006 when I first started but then moved on to 2009, 2011 and now 2012. I loaded it by disc onto new desktop & laptop using windows 7 but it doesn't open automatically I have to load it through the programme compatibility assistant. I decided to uninstall the whole programme as I no longer used it so I went through the uninstall procedure but it would not disappear from my list of programmes (I have repeated it many times). My problem is when my tree is autosaved in documents it saves in the 2006 programme for some reason and I have also tried to save my tree as a GEDCOM to transfer to dropbox and it also saves to 2006 so I cannot open it. What am I doing wrong can anyone help please.

« on: Saturday 18 August 12 20:34 BST (UK)  »
I have found a baptism record on IGI for my gggrandfather William Pritchard for 24 Apr 1825 in Stanton Upon Hine Heaths with his parents John & Ann Pritchard. I would love a copy of this, but what I really want to know is the maiden name of his mother - Ann. There is a marriage for a John Pritchard to Ann Wilkes 13  Feb 1798 (also IGI) but someones tree has him married to a Mary Ann Worden not sure which is correct. Can anyone help pleas

Technical Help / Laptop problem
« on: Wednesday 31 August 11 08:14 BST (UK)  »
My laptop is having a lot of problems at the moment - it keeps showing up 'page cannot be displayed' when I go to sites on the internet (not just one site ). I am also having to log back into sites each time I use them. My virgin security went through everything to say there was no virus ect, but I wondered if Virgin had been working on the line.  About a month ago it would not shut down at all so I had to let the battery run down completely but it was ok after. Any suggestions please?
Another question while I am on - both my laptop & desk top are on IE8 but am not sure weather to update to IE9, Laptop is on Vista and desktop is Windows 7
Thanks

Im baffled - does anyone know of a price increase that is coming in in the next month or so if so I will renew now

Lincolnshire / Leadenham death
« on: Saturday 06 August 11 22:31 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone tell me where a catholic person who died in Leadenham would be buried. G grandfather was a protestant but g grandma was a Catholic - they married in St Marys Catholic church Great Gonerby and gave the children the choice of want religion they wanted to follow.  Not sure if the father changed to Catholic or not - if he didn't he would probably be buried at the Church in Leadenham but just wondered where he would be buried if he had changed.

Lancashire / Peter Morris
« on: Sunday 17 July 11 00:41 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for a marriage for Peter Morris, born 1865 in Liverpool and died in 1901 aged 36 also in Liverpool. He is on the 1891 census in Lord Street Liverpool as single but on 1901 census he is married to Emma and living in Crown Street Liverpool. Emma is my ggma but I cannot find a marriage for them, I am hoping to find what name she went under when they married. In total she was with 3 different man  (husbands???) but can only find a certificate for the 3rd marriage to Tom Sykes and she married him under the name of Emily Morris so I presume at sometime she must have married Peter Morris!!!
Any help would be welcome
