Buckinghamshire / Re: Several dates for baptism
« on: Saturday 21 May 22 13:41 BST (UK)  »
I have had several baptisms registered, and saying 'child was buried'...........??

Perhaps the mix up with the dates are the baptism and burial date.

You need to check for the burials of the earlier child that was baptised.

Bucks Family History society can do a search for a small fee of £1 for each event, covering 100 years.

Buckinghamshire / Re: Mary Cripps abt 1766 - Baptism record

Normally marital status(Widower or Widow), would be included in a marriage Bond, as a significant amount of money would be required for the purchase of the Bond.

In the Bucks marriage Bond list there are plenty of Widowers and Widows mentioned.

A monetary pledge or guarantee given to the court by the intended groom and a bondsman to affirm that there was no moral or legal reason why the couple could not be married and also that the groom would not change his mind.

Have you contacted BucksFHS for baptism search for Mary Cripps.  https://www.bucksfhs.org.uk/

Also BucksFHS are on facebook.

From the Buckinghamshire 1872 Beer house list.

The Licence was granted in 1845, for the Plough in Stewkley.  Occupier/Licencee, in 1872 was a Charles Mead.

The owner of the Plough was E.M.M. Lucas of Rowsham.

They also could have travelled by Wagon with their possessions, or Horse drawn Coach, and a 'Waggoner' or ' Carrier/Carter' could have taken their possessions to the Docks.

All depends how wealthy they were, or what cash they had available.
