Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Latin - start of new year COMPLETED
« on: Saturday 03 February 18 07:14 GMT (UK)  »
I would love to complete the transcription/translation of this Latin text. It is obviously indicating the start of a new year in the records.

So far, this is my guess ;
Sequantur nomina eor[um] qui[cumque] bapti[zati] nupta .... sepul[tus] fuerunt & festo annu[nciationi]s beata Maria Virginis Anno Dom[ini] in 1628 usq[ue] ad ide[m] festo Ano 1629 . . . . 1628

Can anyone help me please?

Regards
Grantley

I am trying to transcribe & interpret this baptism entry.

It logically is the baptism of Trysteram (or Tristeram), who appeared as under the age of 15 in his father, Peter TREWBODY’s Will dated 8th Feb 1605/1606.

It appears to be something like ;
T(rysteram) filius Petri TRUBODYE gen(er)osi Baptiz(atu)s fuit (xxx..) die . . . . ano d(omi)ni et Elizabeth etc p(re)d(i)c(t)a

The top entry appears to be dated 13th January in the 43rd year of the Reign of Elizabeth I. I guess the year would therefore be 1601/1602.

Can anyone help me, please?

London and Middlesex / Christopher BILLOPP burial
« on: Saturday 30 September 17 06:19 BST (UK)  »
I am after the burial date of Christopher BILLOPP.

I have just been to the Library and downloaded via ancestry, the burial register image for Christopher BILLOPP - Greenwich St Nicholas Deptford.

Unfortunately the date is not part of the image.

It is headed Buried 1724.

His line reads - Capt Christopher BILLOPP from the Fleet prison London.

Can anyone help me with the date, please?

Regards
Grantley

The Common Room / the age that god forbede
« on: Monday 31 July 17 06:07 BST (UK)  »
I have a 1501 English Will of a mother.

Three times she makes provisions if children of hers die “within the age that god forbede”.

One child was definitely under the age of 20 in 1485. The other children would logically be less than 16.

I haven't come across this wording before. Does anyone know what it means?
