I've actually found quite a few burials from her family on there in Irlam.
I'm pretty sure St John the Baptist is grassed over though

Thanks again!!

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Ann Russell (Devonport) Burial
« on: Saturday 07 August 10 09:18 BST (UK)  »
I'm looking for the Burial of Ann Russell (Devonport) burial.
She died in 1879 in Spotland, Rochdale

Her Husband James Rusell died in 1914 and is buried with his third wife Eliza Rusell in Burnley Cemetery

She was born in 1851 in Irlam and she married James at the Methodist Church in Barton Upon Irwell.

Her parents were James Devonport (1817- 1891) and Martha Clarke (1821- 1872)- I don't know where these are buried either.

Cheers
Suzanne

James parents were

John Russell- Born 1816 Died 1849
Hannah Pope- Born 1813 Died 1851

I think I will have to order that marriage certificate for James Russell and Anne Noyce and see if the details match.

Thanks for the help

The Worsley workhouse at Hazelhurst opened  December 1778
It was situated at the junction of Hazelhurst Road and Moorisde Road.
In 1850 after a report about the condition of the Hazelhurst workhouse to the Guardians, it was recommended that no more paupers were to be sent there.
There were still references to paupers being at the workhouse as late as 1855 in the Guardian minute books.
The Workhouse building was sold by auction at the White Horse Inn in August 1857. The proceeds, amounting to £560, were used to pay off Worsley's share of a government loan for building the new unioin workhouse at Patricroft.

Thats just a quick overview about the workhouse from the book, it goes into alot more detail but if theres any more info you need let me know
