I have all the information from the Census's regarding this family but am stumped at finding the details for William Wharton aged 11 on the 1851 Census.  He was in Oxford County Gaol, listed as Prisoner.  I would dearly love to find out what he had done and get a record of the court case.  I have searched the NA and to be honest that site loses me every time i go there.

Class: HO107; Piece: 1728; Folio: 634; Page: 5

Can anyone help please?

Added: I've got the full story now , so please move this thread.   Thanks

Buckinghamshire Lookup Requests / Marriage - Bletchley - WHARTON/TARBOX
« on: Saturday 14 March 09 21:28 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to get started with my Wharton side of the tree.  This is going to be the first step to get me to onto the Census's   I need someone to look up the marriage of:

Gilbert James WHARTON and Winifred TARBOX, They married at St Martins Church in Bletchley around 1929 - 1930.  Both are deceased.

My elderly uncle (a Baxendale) married into the Wharton family and he would like me to research his late wife's tree. He has tons of pictures but sadly none have names attached to them.  He knows very little about my aunts family other than her parents names,  no DOB's or anything.

He knows Gilbert was possibly born in Maids Moreton around 1900 but thats all.

I really would appreciate this, it would mean a lot to him,

I live in Halifax, WRY, so if anyone would like me to reciprocate a look up there, i would be more than happy to oblige.

Hi Guys,

Well. I got the results back from my efforts at transcribing and although they were'nt perfect it was better than i thought.   One of my mistakes is this name.  I had transcribed it as W A Boulton Rector.  I 've looked at it more closely @@ and i think it says W H Boulton Rector.  What do you think?

There is a couple of others so watch this space lol

Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Stuck on AVEYARD
« on: Sunday 08 March 09 09:18 GMT (UK)  »
I have Joseph AVEYARD with his Wife Elizabeth on the 1841 Census

Source Citation: Class: HO107; Piece 1290; Book: 2; Civil Parish: Batley; County: Yorkshire; Enumeration District: 22; Folio: 47; Page: 12; Line: 4; GSU roll: 464252.

I have checked the IGI for Josephs birth/christening and theres 2 on there that could be him.  :-\

Does anyone have the transcriptions for his marriage to Elizabeth.  Given his childrens ages I would assume that he married  abt 1832 +-5 and possibly his father might be listed on there.

He is nowhere to be found on the 1851 Census but i think Elizabeth remarried a chap called Joshua Greenhough
Source Citation: Class: HO107; Piece: 2314; Folio: 41; Page: 22; GSU roll: 87532-87533.

I have checked FreeBDM for Elizabeths marriage to GREENHOUGH but nothing is listed.
As i dont know her maiden name i could only search with her married name, AVEYARD.

Looking at the 1851/1841 Census there are a couple of "spare" children with her.
1841: Ann HUFFINDEN aged 14 and John HUFFINDEN 11
1851 John HUFFINDEN 21

I am begining to think these two were Elizabeths Children to a marriage previous to her marrying Joseph AVEYARD. I cant find these two on any of the Census's apart from the 1841 and 1851.
I have tried HUFFENDON/HUFFINGDON/HUFFENGDON and lots of other variations.

If anyone could shed light on this lot i'll be very grateful

The Hant looks like it's short for Harriet.
