Kent Lookup Requests / William J McKnight

Hi , Need some help please . Have William J McKnight on the 1881 census in Battersea London with Widowed mother and 3 siblings.
William J McKnight Born Canterbury Mar qtr 1860
Richard Born Wandsworth Sep qtr 1867
Maria Born Chatham C 1855 , CANNOT FIND ON BMD
John Born Canterbury C 1861 , CANNOT FIND ON BMD

Mother is a JANE born Richmond Surrey C 1831 now looked for a Marriage Jane to a McKnight and found Jane Cheal Marriage to a John McKnight in Canterbury Jun qtr 1859 , could this be them just guessing. Looks like her husband died between 1866 and 1881 but again nothing suitable on BMD.

So can somebody look them up in pre 1881 census,s please , usual stuff please address and who is at home please . Also anybody find Maria and John,s birth as well on BMD i would be delighted .

Cumberland Lookup Requests / Robert Hayton Hutchinson , Help needed

I have in my tree a Robert Hayton Hutchinson , his father Thomas married a Jane Hayton .Robert Hayton Hutchinson died in 1842 at the age of 34yrs in a Mine accident .
In 1845 Roberts brother Thomas had a son and called him Robert Hayton Hutchinson . He also died young at the age of 25yrs in 1st May 1870. This was all in Alston.

There is also a Robert Hayton Hutchinson born 16th June 1873 , his birth certificate states born Whitehall Alston ( Nenthead)?. His mother was Mary Hutchinson , no father on birth cert .

Now with that family middle name Hayton I feel there must be some connection , I looked them up in 1881 census and found Mary Margaret 29yrs Born Nenthead a Widow . Robert H Hutchinson 8yrs Born Nenthead , and James Margaret 3yrs Born Durham , so it looks like Mary Hutchinson married after Robert Hayton was Born in 1873 and was widowed before 1881 .

Trouble is nothing on FreeBMD for Marriage of Hutchinson / Margaret , nothing for birth of James Margaret , no suitable Husbands death , in fact nothing atall . Its an unusual name so i thought it would be easy .
Can anybody find Mary Hutchinson at Whitehall Alston in 1871 or earlier so i can try and tie her into my family , and why nothing on BMD .

The Common Room / Changing a surname

Thanks to good work on this site i have found a relative i did not know existed . But like most things its left me with more questions .
If your birth in 1907 was registered with one surname , and in 1911 census you are being brought up with another family and taken their surname and you married with that surname and your death was with that surname then is it possible they didnt know through their life what their real name was .
There was no adoption in 1907 what about name change by deedpol , when did that come in .
Would a person have to produce a birth cert in the 30,s to get married ?.

Midlothian / Alfred Day 1891 lookup please

Been looking for ages down south for Alfred Edward Day B 1863, was not on 1891 census . But been told he was in Admiralty St, Leith , Midlothian in 1891 census . Can somebody do a lookup please and tell me where he and his wife were born .
He should have been born Glastonbury and his wife Alice S ? Day B 1867 was she born london ? .

Also believe they married in Scotland , as they are the only relatives i have had in scotland how do i find out if they married up there .

Hi Could somebody do a lookup in 1891 and 1901 census for Alfred Edwin (Edward?) Day born 1862 in Glastonbury .
Have him in 1881 census in Brighton , he is a Carpenter . Believe he then moved to London , married and had a son Leslie .
Could he have Married an Alice?.

Cornwall Lookup Requests / Penwerris Church records Falmouth

Hi Does anybody have access to Penwerris Church records in Falmouth.
Looking for any info on Lobeck family .Carl Lobeck from Prussia married Mary Benjamin in 1866 i think it was in this church , and any records on other Marriages Christenings and Deaths from 1866 onwards.

If its Lobeck its my family . There would be nothing on Lobecks before 1866 .

Or any info on how to view these records.

Can somebody look up please . 1861 census Newington RG 9/ 336 .
I am having dificulty making out info on William Read , What was his occupation , Boat Maker ?or Post Maker .
Whats his wifes christian name ?
Also looks like 3 Step children with him Elizabeth , Mary Ann, and Rosina ? and what is there surname ? Thought it might be Rowebottom? .
Done a BMD check , difficult , why no place of birth ? but no Rowebottoms fit these children ..

Asking for any help on my G G Grandmother again .. We have looked before and found nothing , just wondered if we can have a fresh look.

I have her wedding cert Sept 14th 1879 Jane Read aged 18 married Nelson Morris aged 21 in Walworth .
Her father was William Read a Dealer?.
A witness was Mary Ann Read , dont know who she was , sister or mother.
Everybody signed with an X.
The home address in 1879 was given as 10 King and Queen St Walworth Surrey (London).
I am trying to find out where she was from , her parents details and did she have any brothers and sisters.
I have found her on 81/91and 1901 census and her age varies she may have been born in 1859 so she married at 16 Yrs .

Been unable to find her before 1879 anywhere or her father and family and also her birth cert ,but she says on later census born Bermondsey.

Help needed , many thanks Roy
