Hi Fizzy,

Thanks for the reply.  It was John George Bishop;s father. Who I thought was William Bishop.

John George Bishop was born in 1828 Northill.

I got the information from the family search?

Regards

Hi,

Just had look about De Quadros. It was the rough rider regiment. I can't think of anyone that it maybe, with him being that rank.
He would be in that class, considering he;s family had titles.
and ha;s family are related to the de lima de souza family and Sir Roger Faria. All had history within the British Empire as traders.
I know he was not in the British army, and the family were Portugese, living in Goa.
I'm stuck if it is British army, at that rank. I persume, the class would still be in effect as today, in the miltary?
