Family History Beginners Board / Re: Convict's ancestry

Thanks Trish, Thomas Poole was tried Jan 5th 1841 for stealing a pig and got 7 years. I have extensive details of Robert's family, and I suspect Samuel may have been the son of Samuel and Hannah Pool of Stroud, which I think is only 6 miles from Upton St Leonards. However I have no proof of this.  His burial on the Parish records states his age at death as 53, this means he was born about 1779, however the Bishop's Transcripts state he was born circa 1777. The son of Samuel and hannah was baptised 22nd March 1776.
It is with Samuel I am stuck.  I have checked all the IGI but there seems to be huge gaps in some of the Gloucestershire records.  For instance, I cannot find a marriage for Thomas and Sarah, yet his Convict papers state he was married at the time of sentence, wife Sarah.    I was hoping some relly of this line may have found something that would help me.   thanks again,

Bob
