Hi Gadget,

I doubt the date is wrong.....would Dec 1893 be in the Sept Q though?

Hi Heather, and thank you for your input. I seem to remember mention of a brother George and know my GF had other relatives, who, during the time I was at school lived in Abram, but also he had cousins (I THINK) in Bryn. Would Golborne still be a Wrexham birth registration?

Thanks again to you both,
regards
trevor

Thanks again for your speedy replies. I will order the marriage cert and see what it gives up in the way of information.

Regards
Trevor

Thank you once again....with a little more searching I did find this which is probably the one, everrything seems to match:

Evans, James m Bowler, Eliza Hannah, 1916 Primitive Methodist Church, Warrington Road, Ashton in Makerfield, Wigan and Leigh registers A21W/1/2 on Lancashire BMD website. This matches the year I had originally, although thought it might be incorrect given they were both very strong Methodists, yet my Dad was born March 12th, 1917 - means GM was 3 months pregnant when they got married  ;)

James was his only name, no middle name/initial.

Typo no problem,  I had 1916 in my notes, just wasn't surprised to read 1915 given their religious background.

Thank you again

Firstly, thank you for an extremely fast reply Gadget, didn't expect anything today given the time difference between here and there.

Is there an online source (paysite if necc) where I can get that, or is it a "write in" process?

Thank you again, much appreciated.

Hi to everyone, first post so please excuse any mistakes.

I am an ex. Brit living in the states now, so impossible to do first person research in the area. I have most of my family Tree, including both GM's and one GF. However my Evans history is missing from the paperwork I have here so need to start from scratch. The earliest I have is my GF, who was James Evans b 28/12/1893 in Wrexham. I know that by 1917 he and my GM (Eliza Hannah Bowler b 19/08/1894) were living in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Lancs where my father, Stanley, was born on 12/03/1917. I seem to remember from early childhood my GF had family living in the Abram area, and will eventually manage to trace those. Right now I am stuck with tracing my 2x, 3x GF and their wives and any additional families from those generations. I KNOW it is a huge amount to ask, but would be extremely grateful for any input.

Thank you in advance for any assistance,

Trevor Evans (now age almost 60, for anyone thinking they might have a family connection anywhere)
