« on: Friday 20 April 12 14:10 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Firstly welcome to Rootschat.
I searched the parish records for Stanstead Abbotts and St.Margarets for the period 1795-1801 but regret no trace of a baptism for James BLAKE.

Hertfordshire Lookup Requests / Re: Bishops Stortford - FULLER
« on: Thursday 29 March 12 10:51 BST (UK)  »
Hi Joan,

I found the baptism  for Thomas at HALS and can confirm that the entry is Thomas FULLER s/o Thomas and Kezia bn.02Sep bap.10Sep 1792.
Any blame must therefore fall on the then vicar but unfortunately he is not available for questioning.

Hertfordshire Lookup Requests / Re: Gt. Gaddesden Parish Records

Hi,

The record for the marriage of Francis and Demaris is in the Bishops Transcripts and I can confirm there is nothing further to add to the info already in your possession.
I searched the Great Gaddesden baptism records for the period 1701-1711 but found no children born of Francis and Demaris.  There are no baptism records  at GG for the period 1712-1740.

Hi Julie,
I searched the Sawbridgeworth baptism for the period 1800-1812 but only found one entry - Susanna HARINGTON d/o William and Elizabeth 22June1806.
No record found for a death of Elizabeth 1806-1812, nor a marriage for William during that time.
The entry for the 1802 marriage at Bishops Stortford reads - William HARRINGTON, widower, otp and Elizabeth CAMP, spinster, married by licence 16Mar1802. Witnesses John and Molly MOORE.

Hertfordshire Lookup Requests / Re: Baptism - Daniel CLARK - 1801
« on: Thursday 29 March 12 10:18 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I searched the Standon baptism register at HALS and agree they are very hard to read.  However, I did manage to decipher one entry - 19Nov1797 William CLARK s/o Joseph and Ann  but no such luck for Daniel.

Hertfordshire Lookup Requests / Re: GODDARD/LAWRENCE

Hi Whisky,
I visited Grest Munden Churchyard and found a group of four headstones for the LAWRENCE family.  They are heavily covered in ivy but I managed to decipher the larger lettering to establish the surname and two forenames, Aaron and James.   The weather over the years, and the ivy, have damaged the surface of the headstones making the smaller lettering unreadable.

I would mention that the Church no longer functions as a church.  It is privately owned and used for the presentation of operas, plays, concerts and exhibitions.

Hi,

To carry on Nanny Jan's concluding theme, Henry KANE served in the Army Service Corps in England and France from 22Sep1914 to 07Sep1918.  His enlistment papers record his marriage to Annie SIMPSON at St.Pancras on 18Oct1892 and their three children, Amelia 23Nov1908, Albert 03May1911 and William 07Feb1914.

Hi,

Found a Robert John KANE  in the St.Pancras School, Leavesden, Watford Rural, Hertfordshire.  For details of this institution, and a photograph, Google 'St.Pancras School, Leavesden' and open 'Hertfordshire Genealogy : Places : Leavesden'.
