Yorkshire (North Riding) / Arthur G Plant 1870, any plants out there?
« on: Thursday 30 April 09 10:31 BST (UK) »hi there, x
i was just wondering if anyone on RC is researching the plant family,
and if there are any plants out there that can claim this family?
my grt granny was Annie Plant 1903-1984 she married Charles Bruce Aitken in 1923, i have their marriage cert which shows Arthur G Plant (platelayer) as her father, my mum has wonderful childhood memory's of visiting Yorkshire in 1960's, ill have to find the photo's,
i will be going back as far as i can with the Plant family, so if theres anyone
out there with Plant connections, come and join me,
1901 England Census
Arthur G Plant b 1870 31yrs, Charndon, Buckinghamshire,(head)
his wife Elizabeth b 1873 28yrs, Bedale, Yorkshire,
they lived in Darlington, St John, Durham
Arthur was a platelayer N.E.R ? (would this be railway?)
Williamth Plant 4yrs son (says William on original page)
Lilian Plant 3yrs daughter
John T Lamb 19yrs Boarder, platelayer
......................................
then in 1911 census they were living in
East Cowton, North allerton, County Yorkshire, North Riding
Lillian Plant 12yrs daughter
Annie Plant 7yrs daughter (my grt granny)
Arthur Plant 5yrs son
William is missing in 1911, he would have been 14yrs, would he have been
to young to leave behind? or maybe he died.
ok, hope to hear from someone, thanks for reading,
kaz, x
