Hampshire & IOW Lookup Requests / Re: Walter Russell
« on: Thursday 25 February 16 17:49 GMT (UK)  »
This has been a really difficult search trying to find a marriage for Walter, probably because he moved around whilst in the navy. I have an old photo of him supposedly with his son and daughter inlaw. The son looks to be mid to late twenties but just cannot be sure.I have no record of a name for the son, hence the frustration in trying to find relevant detail.

Not a subscriber to the 1939 register,so cannot answer that question. Walter Charles born 1905 Portsea is shown as infant death in 1906. This Walter is proving very difficult to track down. Thanks for your efforts.

My Thanks to you all for all your efforts, information given has been a great help.
I am still having a bit of bother finding anything further on Walter Russell apart from a possible marriage 1896 in Portsea to Ada Clara King, looks to be him but not sure, also he was a  seaman on
HM Telegraph shipMonarch at anchor in Great Yarmouth. I do believe he had a son because I have a photo taken in Dorset with his son who looks o be in his early twenties,no indication of the year.
He probably left the service and returned to live in Dorset.Any thoughts anyone?

Devon / Re: William Walter Boyland

Looking more closely at the details on Ancestry I agree Newton Abbot is place of death.
His marriage was at Devonport 1927 to Lillian Champion and I have found two children born years apart with sme maiden name for mother ie Champion. Sylvia born in Bristol 1927.and William R B Boyland also Bristol but in 1942.A huge gap ??wondering now if perhaps William W might have been away in Navy? Huge puzzle, almost as if he vanished with the lack of information available.
Again,Thank you all for your efforts and comments.

Thank you all for your efforts, much appreciated.I believe the correct person is William Walter Boyland born Newton Abbot Devon. It seems I have hit a brick wall with this one so next step,I will order a certificate to see if that sheds any light.Odd that there is so little on Ancestry(my only subscribed source of information). In fact there does not appear to be much on him at all. I found that he married a Lillian F J Champion in 1927.Can find no siblings nor parents.
