Shropshire Lookup Requests / Re: Hodnet Parish Registers
« on: Friday 11 February 22 23:49 GMT (UK)  »
Hi LeedsHipPriest69,
Just came across your message, don’t know if you have found
                                anything to help with Charles.
I have searched the melocki.org.uk web site and checked
for  Hodnet parish register Charles & Elizabeth .

Some you might have, but found these.
Baptism, 1716. November 30,  Robert. S. of Charles and Elizabeth Tew.
1724.  January 6,      Elizabeth. d of Charles and Elizabeth Tew.

Burials,  1720 starts with May 6.
1720 January 15,  Isabell. W. to George Tew.
                                After March 18 is April 17 1721.

1736. September 21. Charles Tew, of Hondet.

As for the marriages 1709===1717, nothing about Charles and Elizabeth.
Could it be they married in Elizabeth’s parish and lived in Hodnet?

Hopefully this might be of use, looks like Charles and George are
two different people, may be brothers?
                               Best regards,       Billy.

have you tried to search the newspapers from that time?
as you know, he could have passed away late December
which he then might be buried in January 62.

take a look at the Shropshire Archives papers.

Hi everyone,
Many thanks for all the information, glad to see a date when they sailed
also where they where going to.   can’t work out putting Scotland down.

will try and work back and search for William’s death, thinking might
have been accident.  the 1971 death notices give me the children name
but nothing for Harold, I have him living in 1960.

just wondering who paid for Margaret’s trip home, any idea on the cost
of a ticket also did she have to pay for the children?
                    again many thanks,         Billy.
