Just to confirm previous post.

In 1881 Owen’s wife was Elizabeth age 30, to young to be the mother of Thomas, however census below notes Ann but no death record in Glasgow?

1871 - 10 Dempster St. Glasgoe
Owen Connor   30   Head
Ann Connor   30   Wife
Thomas Connor   11   Son
Patrick Connor   5   Son
Mary Connor   1   Daur (Daughter)

I have checked for a marriage for Owen on
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie sadly none.

Colin
Thanks Colin,
Owens first wife was Ann Hoy,(Thomas' mother), his second wife was Elizabeth Boyd.

Bridget was a second wife.   Should daughter "Heather" be Martha?  See 1891 entry - wife is Martha b Glasgow.  Both children you mention are to his first marriage

Death of Martha Connor aged 32 mmn Broadshane 1897 Bridgeton

Marriage 1898 Thomas Connor to Bridget Gillespie
Thanks CaroleW,
You're correct with Martha, I looked up the birth of Martha junior in 1890, I knew he was married twice from his marriage cert entry to Bridget as widower.

Thanks Colin,
Owens first wife was Ann Hoy (Thomas' mother), his second wife was Elizabeth Boyd.
Owen died in 1895 at Reid street, Bridgeton.

I see from the 1881 census that Thomas had brothers, Patrick and Owen, and sisters, Mary and Annie.  They were all born in Glasgow, so their birth certificates will give the date and place of their parents' marriage. That would help pinpoint an area in Ireland.

Thanks GR2,
Thomas' father Owen was married twice, first wife was Ann Hoy, I presume they married in Ireland and had Thomas before they moved to Glasgow, second wife was Elizabeth Boyd who is the mother of the rest of the children, all born in Glasgow. place and date of marriage, 1873, High Church Glasgow.

Hi all,
I've been trying for a few years to find the birthplace of my great Grandparents James Doherty and Margaret Gallagher, thanks to the recent release of the Scottish 1921 Census I have discovered my G/Grandmothers place of birth is listed as Cornamucklagh County Monaghan, my G/Grandfathers place of birth is listed as Derry, Derry.
I'd like to find out what part of the city he was from but as he had a very common name for the north west I'm kinda stuck again for a birthplace.

His parents are listed on his Marriage cert (1879) in Glasgow as John Doherty, farmer, deceased, and Agnes O Donnell, formerly Doherty, Maiden name Doherty.

Any help or advice is appreciated.
                   Regards, John.

Hi all,
I'm trying to establish the birthplace of Thomas Connor,
he is listed in the 1901 census as living in 51 Dale street Bridgeton, age 39, born in Ireland, wife Bridget, Daughters Annie and Heather?
I can't seem to find the family in later census returns,
I was hoping to find him in the 1921 census to establish a more detailed place of birth and to tie up a few loose ends in this part of my research.
I found a record of his Marriage to Bridget in 1898, and also a mention in the 1881 census when he was living with his parents in Reid street Bridgeton.
Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi doch,

I sometimes find that when I purchase new credits, that I have to sign out of SP, then back in and the credits show up.

Cheers
KHP
I got a reply from SP re my credits, I had mistakenly bought a voucher for 30 credits  :P and that's why they weren't showing on my total credits.

Hi, hope this is the correct thread for my post,
I bought 30 credits from SP last night to continue searching the 1921 census, I paid via paypal, received an email from SP to confirm the purchase, it's on my paypal account that the payment was made, but i haven't received any credits, i sent SP an email last night but haven't as yet received a reply.
Is this a common occurrence or am I just unlucky, I was really enjoying all the new info from the census, now I don't know whether to try and buy credits again or wait till SP answer my email.
