I am not saying it was a popular name only - only that is was a popular name to call a dead child which was what I found strange.

Whilst looking for a distant long dead Auntie called Barbara Smith in Deaths I noticed that each quarter only had one or two Barbaras and Barrys and out of them one or both would be shown as zero age which I assume is stillborn. So how come Barbara and Barry Smith was such a popular pre 60's name for a still born child. Any one got any suggestions - I am just curious?
