Yorkshire (North Riding) Lookup Requests / Re: Northallerton Marriage 1814
« on: Sunday 30 January 11 22:40 GMT (UK)  »
Thank you Pels, that is a bonus getting Elizabeth's birth too.  I have all their children.  Now I have been looking for a marriage for John Wilson and Mary.  I found one on 11 March 1814 but Mary's surname is given as Wilson also.  Are you able to confirm this please, are they Cousins?
Thank you again, Charley

Thank you Morgan for a brilliant response and especially for finding it under Davis not Davies.  This is my family.

Thank you, that could be useful if I can tie her up to the marriage as well! Not far away at all as I've just looked it up on the map.I'll drop it into the archives for future use.  I am most grateful for your help.

Norfolk Lookup Requests / Re: Marriage in Terrington St Clements

Hello and thanks,
The marriage of Thomas Banham to Ann Liley Porter on Free BMD says it was in Wisbeach, Mar Qtr 1840.
The 1841 census says they lived in Walsoken and they were both 25 years old - rounded to the nearest 5. Ann died in Mar 1842 leaving an 18 month old and a new baby.  Thomas re-married in April 1842.   Early in 1843 he and Mary had another baby - my ancestor.
In 1851 Thomas was 38 and Mary his new wife 48.  I do have the Mary's marriage cert.
I have used family search but cannot find a map yet.  If you have any other ideas on how to find Ann Liley Porter's father's name apart from the obvious I would welcome your help
With thanks, Charley

Norfolk Lookup Requests / Re: Marriage in Wisbeach

Thomas and Ann lived in Walsoken in 1941 and all other records have been Norfolk rather than Cambridge.  She was only married to Thomas for 2 years before she died.  If the two Porter girls were sisters the father of the second bride, Mary, was John Porter. Mary was married in Terrington st Clements in 1942.   I was trying to avoid buying Ann's certificate if I can as I have bought an enormous number in the past and this is just to satisfy my curiosity.  Mary is my family not Ann
Thanks
Charley
