Berkshire Lookup Requests / Re: Ruby Lillian East - Who was she?
« on: Friday 22 May 09 16:52 BST (UK)  »
All we know is her mother worked in a manor (or big country house!) and was made pregnant by one of the gentlemen of the house. Ruby married under the name East and her birth date is 18/4/1912. It is actually probable she wasn't born in Reading but that is where she was married

Berkshire Lookup Requests / Ruby Lillian East - Who was she?
« on: Friday 22 May 09 16:07 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I'm trying to trace any information about Ruby Lillian East. East is her adopted surname and have no clue to her real one, her date of birth is 18/4/1912 possibly in Reading. She married George Henry Martin on 6/1/1934 also in Reading
Any help will be greatly received

Excellent, thank you. You wouldn't believe the variations in the spelling of Missen, I think that is why I am struggling
Thanks for your help

hi,
Thanks for the reply and tip off. Is there anyway that the information could be narrowed down by years and surname? There is far too much there for me to download (on timed internet!)

Thank you for the medal index card tip, it paid off. That is him. Anything of his got destroyed when his son's house caught fire before I was born, thats why I don't really know anything about him or his family

Hi Ady,
Thanks for swift reply
The name is David Stanley Jones and I know he joined the Grenadier Guards in 1912 til 1918 and the the 1st Royal West Surrey commissioned service in 1918 til 1919. I don't know what rank he got to or even if he fought in ww2. All I know is he made captain, as its on his headstone
