Shropshire / Mary Ann Nevitt b1809 Bridgnorth

Hi All,

I am trying to find the parents of Mary Ann Nevitt b1809 in Bridgnorth.

She married Job Walton in May 1834 at St Phillip's Birmingham and her subsequent census entries (surname Walton) of 1851, 1861 and 1871 consistently give a year and place of birth as 1809 Bridgnorth. She dies in October 1871 at the age of 62.

The closest I can come to anything like a sensible baptism is Mary Ann Nevett dated 11 Aug 1819 at St Mary Magdalene Bridgnorth daughter of Thomas and Mary.

And on the same date, in the same church and to the same parents is Sophia Nevett and Frances Nevitt.

Is one or more of these a very late baptism? Where can one see the original pages to verify?

I need some help locating Thomas Littleford in the period 1906 to 1923 and offer the following background information obtained from GRO/BMD, census, and electoral registers:

1880      Thomas Joseph Littleford born Hertford Heath to Orson & and Jane Emma (nee Brown)
1881 Census   with parents at Stanstead Abbots Herts
1891 Census   with parents at Little Amwell Herts
1901 Census   with parents at Hornsey Middlesex

1902      marriage to Bessie May Guy at Hornsey Middlesex
1903      birth of son Thomas Orson in Edmonton Middlesex district
1904      death of son Thomas Orson; birth of daughter Elizabeth May; both in Edmonton
1906      birth of son George Russell in Edmonton

1911 Census   Bessie May, Elizabeth & George with her widowed mother in Islington London

1919-31   Bessie May Littleford living with Frederick Rogers in Islington
1920      Bessie May has son Fredrick William Rogers Littleford in Islington

1923-26   Thomas Littleford in Wood Green Middlesex
1927-54   Thomas and Nellie Littleford in Wood Green

1939 Register   Bessie May Rogers and Frederick jnr in Islington
1939 Register   Thomas & Nellie Littleford in Wood Green

1954      Thomas dies in Wood Green

1960      Nellie Littleford dies in Islington (born 1895 former name unknown)

1962      Bessie May Rogers dies in Essex South West (West Ham?)

Looking for any information about this gentleman to determine if he is my great grand father.

I am hoping he was born around 1881 in Hertford but would have been living in Hornsey or Islington around 1900.

Essex / Eliza Hitchcock baptised 1841 in Essex

Hi All,

Eliza Hitchcock was baptised 7 March 1841 somewhere in Essex to Henry Hitchcock and Martha Lawrence; familysearch has this indexed as Eliza Hicthcock while Ancestry has it indexed as Eliza Hidneack but neither shows the actual place in Essex.

Firstly, I would like to know where this baptism took place as I am trying to link this Eliza Hitchcock to the one who married Joseph Gillam at St Pancras 22 Dec 1867 giving her father as Henry deceased. She gives her place of birth in subsequent census as Braintree Essex. And she is buried 5 March 1906 at the age of 65.

And secondly, I would like to know anything that can be found about Henry and Martha as this is the only reference to them that I can find at present anywhere.

Hi All,

I am trying to determine if this John Richardson is a relative of mine.

My John was born early 1852 in Lambeth to Thomas and Amelia Richardson.

The family is in Stepney for the 1861 Census and again for the 1871 Census with John the only one missing. I can't find him anywhere at present so I thought he might have been detained somewhere like jail, asylum or armed services.

John marries Caroline Chaffey in 1873 in Bethnal Green.

Any help is as always much appreciated.

Hi All,

I am looking for any information regarding this man who has the same name and birth year as a person in my tree.

His wife would be Frances Emma Rebecca Kerry and they married March 1897 in Chelsea. She says she is 20 when married but is actually 24 being born 1873. I cannot locate any children born in UK.

I have Frances Partridge in 1901 and 1911 but Charles is not with her in either, nor can I find either of them after that.

I have two questions:

Is Edward from Alkerton/Banbury?

Is Mary's surname Phipps or Philipps?

Oxfordshire / William Hitchcox & Ann Combs married twice?

Hi All,

Can I please confirm that this pair was married twice, firstly 30 July 1732 at Tysoe Warwickshire, and again 3 December 1732 at Alkerton Oxfordshire. These two places I believe are only about five miles apart so maybe they got married in their respective home parishes, or one was catholic?

It would be great if there was any indication of parentage. He is possibly the son of William Hithcox and Philippa Judd baptised in 1716 at Swalcliffe Oxfordshire but that might make him only 16 when he married unless he was baptised quite late.
