Family History Beginners Board / Re: Do your own research - get the BMD's
« on: Monday 08 June 09 17:11 BST (UK)  »
I have given information to these name scribblers with photo“s and when i have gone back “to look at thier tree the wrong photo is on the wrong person!! ???

So now I am choosy what information I give away and I only give copies of BMD if the person can give me something back it“s calling sharing, and I work with a lady from one side of the tree and we share the costs of wills, BMD and documents we need.

I have asked family to contribute but they just say it“s your project your expense :o

Thank you for the welcome I was getting a little fed up with talking to myself and the screen so my other half said go and find somebody ėlse to annoy with your dead people!!!

I am researching my grandmothers father Frederick William Hodgson b 1876 Manchester(grandmother is lady sitting in profile photo)

When she died 1985 we came across a letter written by him saying he was leaving the country, and as he wasn“t married to my greatgrandmother off he went!! to join his cousin Harry abroad  so really I had found him and lost him again at the same time but I have managed to find his Birth cert and his parents and I know he was born in Manchester and lived in leeds and the family were around  Leeds. He came to Coventry with his parents and he left in 1924 I was hoping to see If there were any relations out there.

I can see I am going to have fun on here ;D

thanking you
Polly

Hi there

I am new to the site and I just wanted to say hello

I have spent the last 8 years tracing my roots and it has been a long hard emotional journey, and it has turned up some skeletons some good and some surprises and some devastatingly sad.

So I am starting on a new journey on my grandmothers father who I couldn't start researching  till the 1911 census came on line.

so onward and upward
