Hello Neil,

Thomas Todd was my Great grandfather, I didn't know him.

As far as I know he was born 1868 and although his parents William and Margaret were from Sunderland. I'm not sure if I have conflicting info as through another contact it was noticed that on the 1901 census Thomas was born in Lyn Norfolk, he lived most if not all his life in Sunderland.
Through some census' William his father was a Mariner and Margaret his mother was born ( again through info gladly given) was born 1828 in Appleton Yorkshire.
Thomas married a Mary Watson
The address that I have for the TODDS is Henry street Bishopwearmouth Sunderland east.
Ethel my Nana moved to the London area in the late '30's early 40's my mum and 3 of her siblings were all born in Sunderland.
My Grand mother Ethel was born 1906 at 30 Henry street Sunderland.

Hello I am wondering if there are any Todd's here?
My Great Grandfather was a Thomas Todd born in Sunderland and worked as a Ships Rivetter.
I have been told that he had siblings and they went to Ellesmere Port.
I am not sure if Thomas went there at any time. I have no knowledge of the area so please excuse my ignorance if this is one of the same place.

Hello,
Well I have a list of possibles! and this info just comes from the 1911 census when I assume all children were living at home, with parents Thomas and Mary, which was 30 Henry Street Sunderland.
Thomas William 1894 shipyard carpenter, Durham Sunderland.
Joseph 1894 Boilersmith
William 1896 Boilersmith
Henry 1898 School
Arthur Harrison Todd 1900 school
John Edward Todd 1900, school
Robert Septimus 1902 school
Mary Ann 1905 school
Ethel (my Nana was born August 1906 census says March qtr,1907
Charles 1909
I was told that Thomas senior stayed at the shipyard in Sunderland , I dont know which one or till when. I dont know anything about the TODDS except for my nana Ethel, she moved with husband William Parkin to London in the late 30's early 40's.
Thank you for taking the time to reply to me.   Poppy

Durham / Re: Horden Colliery 1905 - Do you recognise anyone?
« on: Saturday 23 July 11 11:01 BST (UK)  »
Hello, I am probally posting this in the wrong place?
The photo is of William Parkin and was probally taken in 1958, I am the little one poking her tongue out!.
the other photo is of William again 2nd left with other Parkin members I think or they could be Todds.
The reason Ive put this here is William was born at 3 Front Row Horden colliery Shotton 1902 and his father was John Robert Parkin Colliery sinker and  coal finisher?.
On YOUR lovely photo there is a little lad behind the chap sitting on the brick,as you look at the photo, hes on the right. It may or may not be my Grandad ,the scowl is familiar. :)
