United States of America / William Elmer Barr 1861 New York
« on: Wednesday 18 December 13 09:20 GMT (UK)  »
I have a LOT about William E (Elmer) Barr but not his death.
William married Eva Rebecca Morris in New York in 1886 and they had 6 children.  They moved to California prior to 1920.  Eva died in 1929 (confirmed from California death index) but have not found a death for William.  He and Eva are shown at 565 E Santa Clara, San Jose in 1929 on the US City directories.  But I cannot find William on the 1930 census or any death.  Any eagle eyes out there.

United States of America / Charles L Morris 1886 New York
« on: Monday 16 December 13 15:05 GMT (UK)  »
Am looking for Charles L (believe Lawton) Morris born 1886 to Thomas F Morris (1857) & Kate Belle Ferry (1858)(both born New York).

I have Charles on the 1892 New York State census with parents & siblings, on the 1900 census with mother & siblings (father died 1898) and on the 1910 census with Uncle and Aunt William E Barr & Eva C Barr but nothing after that.  On that census he was employed as an electrician.

I have the information on his siblings.  His father was Thomas Francis Morris who was the US government's Chief of the Bureau of Engraving, for the American Bank Note Company.

United States of America / Edward Douglas Foote born 1912 Cook County Illinois
« on: Monday 29 April 13 09:32 BST (UK)  »
Looking for Edward Douglas Foote son of Charles Foote & Gertrude Threedy.  I have Edward on the 1920 & 1930 census with his parents and sister Elsie in Illinois.  There is a probable marriage 1939 Cook County Illinois to a (*) but don't have the supporting information to confirm it.  Have no other confirmations of his whereabouts or any family after that.

He was in Los Angeles sometime between 1940 & 1960 but don't know if he had moved there or was just visiting.  On the 1930 census he was a maintenance man (can't make out where?) and there is a rumour that he did work for one of the big airline companies.

London and Middlesex / Agnes Wright & Joseph Patrick O'Connor
« on: Tuesday 02 April 13 11:47 BST (UK)  »
Have a marriage for a Agnes Wright to Joseph Patrick O'Connor on the 5 August 1906 at St Mary Magdalene Bermondsey (from London England Marriages & Banns).

On the certificate it gives Agnes birth date as 1882 with a father William (Carman) and Josephs birth date as 1879 and father Edward.  The address given on the marriage certificate was 2 Green Walk, Bermondsey.

I believe that Agnes was actually born 1879 (St.Saviour) and was the daughter of William Wright and Bridget Fraser.

I have Agnes on 1881, 1891 & 1901 census.  I have undertaken numerous searches but have been unable to locate Agnes & Joseph after the marriage in 1906.

Would welcome any help in tracing these two.

Hi

I don't seem to be able to access the Royal Military Asylum website.  I was able to search the site on:

www.rma-searcher.co.uk/chelsea

but every time I enter that I now get:

HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error
The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid

Does anyone have any idea if there is a new site?

United States of America / Dunbar Family: Atlanta Georgia
« on: Thursday 01 November 12 14:26 GMT (UK)  »
Trying to find out information about a Dunbar family living in Altanta Georgia between 1911 and 1983:

Father: Jesse H Dunbar, born 1883 North Carolina, died 1940 Altanta
Mother: Pearl M Dunbar, born 1891, Missouri, died 1983 Atlanta
Son:     Jesse E  Dunbar, born 1911, Georgia, died 1972, Atlanta
        Daughter: Norma M Dunbar,born 1918, Georgia, died 1983 Atlanta

I am trying to establish if Pearl M Dunbar was born Pearl M Ellis (the name, birth date and state are correct for Pearl Ellis).

I have the basis information about death dates from the SSDI and from the Georgia death information database on ancestry but neither detail Pearls maiden name information.

I don't know where Pearl & Jesse married but I do have the 1920, 1930 & 1940 census information along with the death information.

I live in the UK and obtaining either SSI information or death certificates is a lenghty (and with certificates expensive) exercise.

So I decided to seek out the Rootschat family first to see if there is any local information on obituaries, etc., before applying for certificates.

Regards

Ray
