From Durham Records Online a burial for Jane Twhaites  in 1843 gives birth year as 1802 and residence as Murton New Winning.

William

I'm just getting round to looking at the GRO for this record. According to the GRO website the age at death was 4?! A mistake, since it does not tally with the burial, do we think?

Many thanks. But nothing else? If not, the family must have been passing through and possibly from somewhere else in the locale?

These are burials in Airmyn? What is your source?

That's good regarding Robert – an infant death as I have him as baptised Airmyn 19 Apr 1795.

Many thanks. Yes, Catherine (née Margrave), was Robert's wife. It is Robert's origins that I find difficult.

Can anybody help me to push back with the CARR family living in Airmyn, 1830s?

My ancestor, Robert Carr, buried in Airmyn 8 Jan 1832. I would love to know where this Carr family came from but as yet cannot find any other members.

Durham / Brick wall alert! Thwaites / Gibson
« on: Wednesday 08 February 17 00:19 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all

I have traced back to my GGG Grandmother, Mary Jane Thwaites, who I believe was born in Houghton-le-Spring and baptised at St Mary, West Rainton, on 6 Jul 1828.

I am having immense problems with her parents – Richard (b. ca 1806) and Jane née Gibson (b. ca 1802). They appear in the 1841 census in East Murton, Dalton-le-Dale (HO107/311/8, f.7, p.10). But I can find neither a birth nor death for either of them!

Can anyone assist. I have tried all the Th*, Tw* tricks on FreeBMD etc., and I think they are not in the 1851 census, but have got nowhere.

Could be wills?

The prospect of its being an untruth is pretty galling.

I'm back – and sorry for being off the radar.

Yes, the connection of MARGRAVE - BOSVILLE comes from the trees online at Ancestry. I had hoped to find the source, as that has happened with several unsourced links on Ancestry.

If a mother named Dorothy without a surname is the best source there is I'm very surprised that someone has just come up with BOSVILLE, although I like the search mentioned that narrows it down (but that is not good enough for me).

So, I guess we conclude it's totally made up? :(
