Monmouthshire Lookup Requests / Workhouse
« on: Thursday 09 December 21 12:07 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
I have a record of death that may be my ancestor.
Name; William Jones, Date 1869, age 77. Residence Pontypool Workhouse.
Is it possible to find additional info, such as date of entering the workhouse and abode?
Thanks for any help.
Rob

Thanks everyone, I can see the images now.
Sorry to put you to so much trouble.
Did I post to the wrong board?

I guess we won't get the answer to my original query re deceased spouses.

Sorry to be so thick, but which numbers.
I think I've clicked on just about everything.

Does the paperclip signify an attachment?
If so, how do I get it?

I have the Knights as George Powell's sister Catherine and her hubby James Henry Knight, married 16th April 1823.

No Trish, I don't have bapts for Henry or Harriet.
Your Harriet King looks good, 1815 Cromhall.
So Fred could have gained a 12 year old daughter on his marriage to Ann(e) King.
1861 census shows Harriet as born in Glos, (Thornbury?).

Thanks all,
There is a Cromhall in South Glos, not very far from Gwernesny.

I have possible children of Frederick as Henry 1812 - 1878,
and Harriet 1813 - 1877.
No mention of Henry in Fred's will. Only Harriet, George Powell and Ann (widow).

I have a marriage record of Frederick, a farmer, widower of Gwehelog, Mon and Ann King, widow.
Married by licence 28th Aug 1827.
Is there any chance of finding the deceased spouses of the couple?
Thanks for any help.
